This contract covers the basic agreement between MacPac Danes and buyers of pets, AKC breeding, or Great Danes for show. This contract does not pertain to any agreements used for trained Great Danes for service, therapy, or the occasional rescue Great Dane found in my area. If you have any questions about the content of this document, please ask. I will be glad to discuss anything that you do not understand or may not agree with.
I will take the time to personally and safely deliver a puppy to you if you are unable to pick up at my location, will meet you half-way; and will go as far as to drive across the country for a fee, but I will not put a puppy on an airline as cargo. I have seen puppies in my veterinary clinic after being picked up at the airport and the trauma from whatever they experienced during their flight is not something that I will consider for my puppies.
I will not amputate the dew claws or crop ears. Dew claws are needed for their stability in taking sharp turns as they run, climbing on a mountain hike, getting out of icy water frozen at the edges, and for stability during mating. Contrary to popular belief, they do have a purpose and they very rarely get stuck in carpet unless they are the floppy type on the rear legs of other breeds (Great Pyrenees comes to mind). Ear cropping has become illegal in many countries and a few of our states have decided to outlaw the practice as well. Big ears are beautiful! Embrace the flappy sound as they shake their head. My babies use them to wake us up at the exact time we need to get ready for work without fail, every. single, day! Who needs an alarm clock? Let your baby be amazing.
