I love to groom to make your pet look beautiful and smell fresh for a most pleasant connection with those they love the best... YOU. But, grooming is more than just looking beautiful. As a former Veterinary Technician, I specialize in keeping your pet healthy by maintaining their healthy skin, coats that shed less, and I observe for early detection of potential problems that can be noticed during the grooming process. Hospital grade disinfectants are used between each client to insure the health and safety of humans and animals alike. Some things are time consuming or just difficult for owners to tackle by themselves. How do your pet's teeth and gums look? Do you find it too difficult to trim the hair of a wiggly pet? When is the last time you were able to trim your dog's nails? I've seen plenty of pets who would rather you not mess with their feet... or face... or tail. It is so necessary since nail trims reinforce healthy foot structure & posture, yet left undone can lead to poor bone structure or can grow back into the paws and create an infection. Yikes! Working in the veterinary hospital has allowed me the opportunity to work with many different breeds and personalities. If you find your pet has been turned away from other groomers due to being difficult to work with then give me a call. I will work with you and your pet to overcome their fear in the comfort of my home-based grooming boutique and help lead them to better health with regular grooming. I am different from the standard grooming facility that must groom quickly in order to make their quota to cover their overhead. They cannot be faulted for that and it can be convenient if you are in a waiting area or your car until you pet is done. However, if you have been unsatisfied in the past, or your dog is fearful of grooming, I have time to work with them gently to overcome their fears. All my clients are finished by hand-scissoring not just clippers and done. Special attention is given to your pet's ears, teeth, paws, and skin condition as I actively line dry with a high velocity dryer to observe every square inch of your dog for signs of hot spots, insect bites, parasites, moles, tumors, etc. that may need attention from your veterinarian. I keep a chart to determine if there is any new growth or problems from one visit to the next. I feel that it is important and therefore, your dog will not be able to be groomed in one hour as dictated to groomers in the chain stores and general grooming industry. I can provide all types of grooming services from the simple bath and blow dry to the most intricate of haircuts; sensitive or anxious puppies to the delicate elderly clients; mild mannered to the seemingly most difficult. I am always continuing to keep up to date with the latest trends and learn to improve my skills from the Master Groomers. I limit my clientele to the number that I can handle to insure that I am available when you need me. For the first year, I worked solo, and have grown with many clients sharing their experience in my salon. I work with a disability that limits the time I can stand on my feet. It became apparent that I needed help in order to continue providing the best services that I can. Heather Pyke and I worked together as in the Veterinary Hospital with great teamwork and skill. It continues to be the same for us in the salon. I hope that I am able to serve you and your pet before I have reached the limit of customers that we can take care of. Thank you for your understanding.

* HELP MY MATTED DOG: Did you know that a dog should not be bathed with matts in their coat unless special equipment and products and are used? The coat becomes more tangled and dries tighter pulling on the skin causing sores, or worse; it is unable to dry and stays wet! Long term matts can potentially be hiding parasites or skin infections due to the skin damage. De-matting by hand can be a painful process if it is severe. In special circumstances for the sake of saving the coat, I may be able to de-mat your pet painlessly. Make an appointment for a free assessment and price for this service. $30 - 60
* SHORT CUT DE-MATTING: Short shave to remove matts, Nail Trim, Trim paw pads, Ears Cleaned, Soothing shampoo treatment for skin irritations, Conditioner, Finishing trim, Finishing spray, Accessories. Because sometimes matts refuse to come out. $65 - 150
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME IN? Please do keep in mind that your dog's hair and skin needs to be maintained on a regular basis. I recommend that your dog comes to visit us on a 4-8 week schedule depending on breed, hair type and chose of hair length. Critical times for seasonal shedders are the spring and fall when double coats are shedding. If this undercoat is not removed, your pet will shed their fluff all over your house and whatever doesn't fall out remains in their coat and turns into matts. Most dogs shed year-round, therefore, brushing, combing, or raking is the best way to care for your pet. If you find yourself too busy to complete this task at least weekly, I can help you out between grooming for a weekly brush out or bathing service. If your dog has very long nails and the quick has grown out with them, I can trim and file close to the quick. This will help the quick to recede; then 3 weeks later another trim and file can be done to reduce the length until your pet's toes can return to their proper position without nails clicking on the floor.
